| On August 17 the Bill
of Statutory Law was presented to Congress “in
which the law on Children and Adolescents
is promulgated”, a proposal that
prioritizes eight basic themes: Nutrition,
Education, Sexual and Reproductive Health,
Special Protection, Civil Registration,
Maternal Mortality, Infant Mortality,
and Water and Sanitation. Based on what

Promoting the autonomy of women in Colombia and
Latin America guarantees the rights of children
Bogotá, December 15 2006 – Despite progress in the situation
of women in the last decades in Colombia and Latin America, there continues
to be a high level of discrimination, intra-family violence, lack of
autonomy and poverty that castS a shadow over the lives of millions of
girls and women in the home, at work and in politics.

group of famous Latin American artists kept a date
at the National Theater in the City of Panama to
confirm their commitment to the children of Latin
America. They were accompanied by Latin American
businesspersons of the highest order, to launch Fundación
Alas, America Latina en Acción Solidaria (“The
Wings Foundation, Latin America in Solidary Action”. |
