January’s quake, humanitarian
action in Haiti averts worse crisis
for children, but much remains to be

13 April 2010 - Three months after the
devastating earthquake that rocked Haiti
and left its mark on over a million
children, UNICEF today reports that
the unprecedented humanitarian response
has averted a worse crisis for children
– but warns that there is much
still to be done, not least as Haiti
approaches the annual rainy season. |

thousand Haitian children to receive
life-saving vaccination as part of Vaccination
Week of the Americas |
| Port-au-Prince,
3 may 2010. An estimated 60,000 Haitian
children under the age of five will
receive life-saving immunization in
the next few days, as part of the Vaccination
Week of the Americas – an annual
vaccination initiative covering 44 countries
and territories in North, Central and
South America and the Caribbean. |
