IN COLOMBIA FROM HEAVY RAINS |
Given the serious
rainy season emergency that is punishing
the country, and which to date has left
more than a million persons affected,
including more than half a million children,
what measures do you think should be
taken to prevent a rain emergency? What
would you suggest so that all of us
together can help and give support for
the affected populations?

The District
Institute of Tourism, Fundación Renacer/
ECPAT/Colombia, and UNICEF – united against
the commercial sexual exploitation of children
and adolescents, associated with travel and tourism
in Bogotá
November
23, 2009. One of the negative risks of tourism
in any destination in the world is the use of
its infrastructure and particular conditions for
actions related to the Commercial Sexual Exploitation
of Children and Adolescents (CSECA) by national
and foreign tourists or travellers. In Colombia,
since July of this year, Laws 1329 and 1336 severely
punish the use of children and adolescents for
sexual exploitation linked to tourism with penal
sanctions and the definitive closing of establishments
used for these ends.
