Young people the most heavily affected
In Colombia, a new case of HIV/AIDS is reported among young men and women every day. This figure contrasts with the ones reported 20 years ago, when a new case was detected every week. As in many countries, the HIV/AIDS epidemic affects the most vulnerable populations and increasingly affects young people.

Cartagena comes through for Colombian children

Bogotá, October 2/2006. Cartagena was witness to another UNICEF Concert, an important sample of young talent that this time spoke out against anti personnel mines. For the first time, the Concert had the participation of an artist of the national renown like Julio, winner of the first Factor X competition, who accompanied the presentations of approximately 400 children who sang and danced on the night of last September 30th.
