Bogotá, August 31/06. The 215 articles approved by the Senate of the Republic last Tuesday, August 29 mark the beginning of a new phase for Colombia’s 18 million children and adolescents. With them, the country has updated its legislation on children, adjusting it to the 1989 Convention on the Rights of the Child.

UNICEF concert in Cartagena, against anti personnel mines

Colombian government decorates UNICEF’s Representative in India

Bogotá, September 13/06. UNICEF’s representative in India, Cecilio Adorna, received the “Order of San Carlos” decoration in the Colombian Chancellery. Currently visiting Colombia, this functionary was recognized for the work he did here when he was representative of the Area Office for Colombia and Venezuela.
